09 Dec LEE CANYON ANNOUNCES THE START OF THE 2020/21 WINTER SEASON
Dec. 8, 2020 – Lee Canyon announces its 2020/21 winter season starts Friday, Dec. 11, 2020. Lifts begin running at 9 a.m., and resort officials expect all chairlifts to be open. Like all businesses and ski areas, Lee Canyon’s operations have been impacted by COVID-19. Guests are encouraged to visit the Safe-Lee section of the resort’s website for details on what to expect. Notable changes to manage Lee Canyon’s capacity and keep everyone safe include all guests are required to book a parking reservation online. Modifications have also been made on how to purchase experiences. Season passes, day-use tickets, and rental equipment must be booked in online and advanced; online bookings start Wednesday, Dec. 9. All staff and guests must wear face masks and practice physical distancing.
“Our COVID-19 operating plan puts the wellbeing of our staff, guests, and community first. It is consistent with county and state regulations and follows the National Ski Association’s Ski Well, Be Well best practices,” explains Jim Seely, Lee Canyon’s marketing director. “Lee Canyon believes spending time outside is vital for good physical and mental health. This winter will look very different because of COVID; our priority is the health of our community.”
SAFE-LEE: SKIING & SNOWBOARDING IN 2020/21
-All guests, including season passholders, must reserve a parking spot in advance.
-A limited quantity of all daily products like single-day tickets will be available.
-Lifts and lift lines will be adjusted to a lift line maze for physical distancing, including an extended maze design with more lateral spacing and increased signage.
-Guests will self-group and ride chairlifts with the people they traveled with to the resort.
-Lift attendants will not require guests to ride a chairlift with people they do not know.
-Guests will be asked to stay within their group and stay 6 feet apart from other guests.
-Snowtubing is suspended for the season.
-Pre-purchased season passes will be available for pick up at an outdoor automated Pick-Up Box located in the base area.
-Indoor counter assistance will be available with Lee Canyon’s safety protocols in place.
-Day lockers will be available indoors but space will be limited.
-Equipment rentals must be pre-purchased online before arriving at the resort.
-People will be assigned a specific arrival time for their rental to ensure physical distancing and keep everyone safe.
-Failure to show up during the allotted time may result in a delay of your rental or possibly cancellation.
-“Learn-To” one-hour private lessons are available for groups of four people or less who traveled together to Lee Canyon. People must contact Lee Canyon’s ski school in advance to book a lesson.
-Programs suspended include Snow Kids and the Mountaineers Program for 4 to 6-year-old children.
-Kids’ multi-week programs will be limited to six children and will be morning sessions only.
Hillside Lodge: Dining and Aprés Ski
-Lee Canyon is following restaurant safety protocols outlined by the State of Nevada and Clark County.
-Reservations are required for table service at The Bighorn Grill and Bristlecone; time limits may be applied in order to accommodate more guests.
– Brewin Burro, the coffee house inside Hillside Lodge, offers an expanded grab-and-go menu of items.
-Facilities have shifted toward touchless transactions, encouraging credit and debit card transactions over cash.
